The time has passed since the previous meeting with our colleagues and fellows from the partner organizations Association For You, QUEST and Creativi108 part of the YEAT project. We at PQHFB welcomed all participants to Bulgaria. Rainy May forced the first day of the meeting to be held in the center of Sofia. We met like old friends. At the same time, the business rhythm was quickly established, as in the limited time we had there was a lot of work to be done. After reporting what has been done during the YEAT project, each of the participants shared the experience gained during the past months, the observations of the activities in their own country and from other organizations, and we synthesized the information to be useful in the future. It was interesting for us to meet new colleagues from our Italian partner Creativi108 . The enthusiasm and desire for development of the young students is impressive. We were hoping that the rain would stop so that we could also meet on the field at the farm where our organization usually conducts therapeutic riding. We wanted to have our conversations surrounded by the horses, which are direct participants in therapy for children with special needs.
We had good luck and the sunny day smiled upon us. This gave us the opportunity on the second day of the meeting to be outside on the farm. Surrounded by nature we continued our work under the curious eyes of the horses. Some of the young participants had no contact with a horse until this point. We tried, following the methods we describe in the YEAT Guidelines, in very short time to overcome their fears, their insecurities. Quickly they cleaned one of our therapy horses and gave him with treats. This eloquently showed, in real conditions, that our methods and experience accumulated over time are developing in the right direction. The sunny day passed unnoticed. We were all content with the work done. The details that each of the participants should develop and the topics to be finalized were noted. At the end of the day, we parted tired but satisfied with what we had achieved so far. All that remains is to sort out all the information and report on our activities in the coming months.
